Apprenticeships & Vocational Training

Our institute provides opportunities for vocational training in professions as biology laboratory technician or animal care technician, where trainees can learn valuable skills and gain extensive experience in a research environment.

For the training program Animal Care Technician, theoretical lessons are taught in blocks at the vocational school Staatliche Berufsschule II Ansbach. The practical part takes place in the laboratory animal facility of the Institute and the Experimental Center of the TU Dresden.

For the training program Biology Laboratory Technician, theoretical lessons are taught in the Berufsschule in Radebeul. The practical part takes place in the laboratories of the MPI-CBG and the SBG (Sächsische Bildungsgesellschaft) in Dresden.

• Duration: Based on the vocational training program requirements.
• Compensation: Paid according to vocational training guidelines.
• Application Prerequisites: As required by the vocational training program.
• Application Timeframe: The application for available professional training opportunities is open in the autumn, through 1 December each year.
