CBG Women Postdoc Stammtisch

After the kick-off meeting organized by Karla Neugebauer and Elisabeth Knust, the CBG Women Postdoc Stammtisch, aka Frauenzimmer is now taking place regularly on a monthly basis. Contact Shirin if you would like to be included in the mailing list. All new CBG women postocs are encouraged to sign up!!!

The main aims of the Frauenzimmer are:

• Facilitating networking amongst the female postdoc community
• Providing a forum to discuss aspects of work concerning the female community specifically
• Discussing career options and progression in an informal setting

Meetings

At this first meeting, we discussed the desired format and scheduling. Every month, 2 people will be responsible for organizing the meeting, including both venue and themes for discussion.

In the second meeting organized by Shirin and Helena, we discussed peer suport for practical problems in scientific projects. In addition, we had small, round-table discussions with 2 MPI-CBG group leaders, Iva Tolic and Caren Norden, about career progression in academia.
