MPI-CBG is Dresden's most family-friendly institution

Flexible work hours, organised child care

The Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology was ranked #1 in the competition "Most family-friendly company in Dresden 2012". The application of the institute got full marks and thus was chosen out of 10 applications as winner by the jury. It is the second institution to win this award, which was initiated last year. 

The key points of the application were flexible work hours for all staff, organised child care (54 slots in two child care centers), and meetings at family-friendly times. Also, the Max Planck Society received the "Career and Family Certificate" of the Hertie Foundation in 2012 for the third time, and the MPI-CBG signed the "Charter of Diversity", which also includes a sensitivity for work-life-balance related issues.

There will be a ceremony including the handing over of the award on 19 November 2012, with the mayor fo the city of Dresden, Helma Orosz, members of the jury, and the MPI-CBG management and staff.
