New building for an interdisciplinary center

The Center for Systems Biology Dresden (CSBD) will bring together people and institutions to understand the basic processes of life. This is an ambitious vision, and it needs space: The Minister-President of the Free State of Saxony, Stanislaw Tillich, together with Prof. Dr. Martin Stratmann, President of the Max Planck Society, and  Prof. Dr. Eugene Myers, founding director of the center, broke ground and marked the start of the new building for the center.

The building will start in November 2014, the new building is planned to be finished end of 2016 and cost approx. 14.5 million Euro. The center will bring together computer scientists, physicists, and mathematicians, focused on quantitative biology with expertise in biophysics, image analysis and high-performance computing.
