On Friday, 13 July 2012, Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Knust, research group leader and director at the MPI-CBG, will give a lecture on the highly controversial subject „Genetic engineering – marvel of science or work of the devil?“ at 19:30 in the Lingnerschloss Dresden. The talk is accompanied by Rolf Schinzel on the grand piano.
In addition to the question what differs plant breeding from genetic modification, the lecture will also discuss the consequences of gene-modified plants on the environment. Moreover, the social and economic significance of green genetic engineering will be tackled.
admission fee: 9 Euros (7 Euro reduced) – the money will support the reconstruction of the Lingnerschloss.
