Immunization or Pox Party?

Science Cafe on vaccinating

SCIENCE CAFE: Immunization or Pox Party?
GrooveStation Dresden (Katharinenstr. 11-13)

Germany has implemented a very strict vaccination schedule - and is now polio or rabies free. But how likely are complications after a vaccination? Are we immunizing children too early? What about unvaccinated individuals - how can their decision affect the health of others? Would a compulsary vaccination schedule make sense? Or is the vaccination business after all merely driven by the greed for money of the pharmaceutical industry?

Experts available for discussion:
Wiebke Sydow, Saxon State Ministry of Social Affairs, member of the Sächsische Impfkommission
Dr. Jan Oude-Aost, GWUP - Die Skeptiker
Prof. Axel Roers, Professor of Immunology at TU Dresden

A Science Café is a casual, informal event on science & society-related topics – with experts and the lay public on one level. There is no panel, but experts sit down with you and discuss your views, ideas, and questions.
