Mass Spectrometry at Dresdner Campus: A Road Map
MS Community Dresden:
The MS Community provides support to biological and clinical research projects carried at the Campus. It comprises MS-Facilities and MS-research groups from the MPI CBG, UKD, CMCB (TUD) and NCT, and Lipotype GmbH. The sites host more than 20 high-end MS instruments and have expertise in MS-based Lipidomics, Proteomics and Metabolomics. We work on service base and open for research collaborations. To our activities belong regular meetings, organization of ms-events, MS journal club and scientific consulting.
Campus MS community: Events and news
11 November 2020
Mass Spec Lab starts an MS Journal Club for Users (MS4U), supported by Campus MS community.
New JC format aims to compensate absence of face-to-face meetings, and help scientists and medical crowd to to assess ms-based publications in their research field. It should also tighten contacts between scientific research community and analytics available at the Campus.
These monthly meetings will be helpful for you if
- you would like to know more about how exactly MS works
- you would like to know how MS technology can contribute to your research
- you would like to use certain MS method
Our next MS4U Journal Club at the 1st of December will be hosted online.
The one before was hosted by Vinca and Tobi at the 3rd of November.
11 September 2020
We have great news to share: we are now officially allowed to host JC offline. Journal Club session at the 15th of September will be a fully offline meeting, and, since Olya will host it, chocolate cookies, tea and coffee will be provided upon arrival.
We all are looking forward our joined meetings of the MS community on campus.
Please send your suggested topics or papers you would like to discuss to olga.vvedenskaya@mpi-cbg.de.
9 September 2020
MS Community activity was recently covered by Campus media. We would like to thank our collaborators for their efforts!

You are welcome to join. Please read the JC rules.
The JC rules are the following:
- The assigned person choses the paper in advance and sends it around, but does not present it.
- Most importantly, Everyone Reads the Paper!
- Starting person (randomly chosen) describes (questiones, criticizes) the first figure/paragraph/topic, and all together we try to figure out what authors wanted to say. The second person (randomly chosen) describes the second figure and so on.
- Please come if you read the paper.
- If you bring your colleagues or friends, make sure that they are aware of the rules.
