Postdoctoral Position in the group of Carl Modes
Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics is currently offering a
in the group of Carl Modes. The project is focused on questions related to the theory and computation of morphogenesis and will involve collaborative work integrating experimental data modeling, first principles predictions, and the ultimate production of a powerful new topology-based simulation platform for understanding and modeling morphogenetic events. This project will be conducted in close collaboration with members from both Frank Jülicher’s and Ivo Sbalzarini’s groups.
Applicants should be creative, flexible and committed with expertise in soft matter physics, applied mathematics, differential geometry, topology, or biophysics with major interests in the theory of tissue mechanics and/or shape-programmable systems. Experience in working with custom-built physical or biophysical simulations as well as familiarity with elasticity and visco-elastic theory and proficiency with Python are desirable.

The full-time position is available immediately for up to 2 years with the possibility of an extension. Salary and social benefits will be in accordance with the regulations of the German TVöD Bund (salary agreement for public service employees).
