Specialist in Genome Engineering (scientist with a PhD level degree, m/f/d)

We are looking for a specialist with hands on experience in genome engineering in at least one of the following model systems: mouse, human or mouse cell culture, C. elegans, Drosophila or Zebrafish. Additional experience with any type of recombinational cloning, ES or iPS cells and organoid models will be an advantage. We are looking for a team player with excellent organisation and communication skills. You will be in charge of organising and executing a broad range of genome engineering projects, including protein tagging, targeted mutagenesis, transgenics, etc., in the full range of model systems used at MPI-CBG. Genome engineering is a vital step in addressing many questions in modern biology and the work involves full immersion in the MPI-CBG research agenda and stimulating interactions with scientist from various advanced research directions.
    
The responsibilities will include
1. The design and execution of genome engineering projects for users of the facility
2. The implementation and optimisation of genome engineering techniques and protocols
3. Project management, preparation of project reports
4. Organisation of the work of the genome engineering service team and coordination with
    other services and facilities on the implementation of our genome engineering pipelines.
5. Documentation of genetic engineering according to German law
6. Quality and safety control

Our offer
The full-time position is available immediately for an initial period of 2 years with the possibility of extension. Salary and social benefits will be in accordance with the regulations of the German TVöD Bund (salary agreement for public service employees).
