PhD Program Officer (m/w/d)

The International Max Planck Research School for Cell, Developmental and Systems Biology (IMPRS) at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics (MPI-CBG) in Dresden offers research opportunities and interdisciplinary training for about 100 doctoral students from more than 40 different countries. The IMPRS closely interacts with the Dresden International Graduate School for Biomedicine and Bioengineering at the Technische Universität Dresden.

Job description

The successful candidate is in charge of the administrative responsibilities in the PhD Program Office, with a focus on the professional and service-oriented support of PhD students and the administration of training, mentoring, recruiting and other program activities.

Main responsibilities
•    support of PhD students in academic administrative matters related to their doctorate at the Technische Universität Dresden
•    coordination of PhD student-driven initiatives, including organization of the necessary institutional infrastructure, event management, internal accounting and budget reports
•    coordination of administrative tasks in the recruitment and admission procedure, and promotion of the program,  
•    managing international correspondence, filing systems, financial administration, calendar and travel management
•    administration and monitoring of training and mentoring activities
•    data capture, statistics, reports

Your qualifications
•    Bachelor degree in administration, management, or comparable qualification
•    expert knowledge in public administration and acquaintance with university regulations
•    excellent written and oral communication in English and German
•    high proficiency in and affinity to computer applications (databases, MS office, Adobe, CMS)
•    excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills
•    outstanding work ethics

Aptitude for guiding young scientists through academic legal procedures and program requirements is required. Strong organizational and analytical skills are a must, too.

Our offer
