Postdoctoral Position to study the Origin of Life

We are offering a Postdoctoral Position:
Starting from inanimate chemistry, we aim to evolve proto-cells with minimal functional genomes in the lab.
For this strongly interdisciplinary research project, we are looking for a highly motivated researcher to carry out experimental work at the interface of physics and biochemistry. In collaboration with two other junior research groups, we study how phase-separated RNA-peptide droplets form and accumulate in temperature gradients (see goo.gl/n1ob2M), and can be evolved to posses a fitness conveying RNA genome.

General information:

We are always looking for highly motivated and creative students to expand our lab.

Students interested in a PhD project in the Kreysing lab are encouraged to apply to the International Max Planck Research School for Cell, Developmental and Systems Biology (IMPRS-CellDevoSys). Please check the list of recruiting group leaders for information on who currently offers a PhD position and the deadline for application.

Also, we are supporting fellowship applications of outstanding postdoctoral researchers that wish to join our lab. This may either be through third party funding organizations (Humboldt foundation, DAAD, etc.), or through an ELBE postdoc fellowship by the Max Planck Center for Systems Biology Dresden (CSBD).

International researchers are particularly encouraged to get in touch.

In case you are interested in working with us please contact Moritz Kreysing.
