Relief efforts for the people and colleagues and collaborators in Japan

MPI-CBG announced to join the Nippon Science Support Network (www.nipponsciencesupport.net), an initiative of German research institutions, scientific agencies and funding bodies. The purpose of this network is to establish a platform for coordinating immediate relief efforts via existing scientific networks between Germany and Japan. A database was established for dedicated funding resources, exchange schemes and open positions for visiting students and research fellows from Japan in response to the recent earthquake and tsunami disaster.

Thus, MPI-CBG backs this strong signal to our Japanese colleagues that concerted efforts are being pursued to intensify and support scientific education, as well as research activities between our two countries.

In a Japan Session, MPI-CBG staff members raised 3555.86 Euro and donated this money to the Japanese Red Cross. Thank you very much for your support! We hope that families of the victims in Japan will be able to come back to their normal lives as early as possible.

The MPI-CBG also invites people to support the American Red Cross disaster relief efforts to help those affected by the earthquake in Japan and tsunami throughout the Pacific. If you decide to support this fund raising effort with your donation: Thank You!
