The mission of the Light Microscopy Facility (LMF) is to provide access to state-of-the-art light microscopy techniques and instruments along with vision toward future trends. We assist through consultation, training and project collaborations.

Facility and Service:
The LMF is open to everybody who is interested to use our service. All users are asked to contact lmf@mpi-cbg.de first and to describe their imaging project. After an introduction to the Facility, users can book instruments and assistance via the LMF booking database. In the field of image analysis LMF closely cooperates with the Image Processing Facility.

In order to help users find the microscope setup and data analysis approach which best fits their needs, the Imaging Facility Network (IFN) operates as a resource and information sharing cooperation between the light and electron microscopy facilities at the MPI-CBG (including the Image Processing Facility, IPF), the Medical Theoretical Center (MTZ) and at the Bioinnovation Center (BIOZ).
