Image Processing

The mission of the Image Processing Facility is to foster and facilitate the use of image analysis techniques in the MPI-CBG.

Services include:

  • Developing and maintaining a knowledge database and a tool repository for basic processing tasks
  • Developing specific tools on demand
  • Training and advising individuals and groups
  • Collaborating on research projects requiring intensive image processing

The Image Processing Facility (IPF) repository is developed in order to provide efficient tools and corresponding documentation for analysis tasks that do not require image analysis expertise. It is maintained and enhanced in accordance with users’ demands and with technological and scientific progress.

The Facility provides a version control system to allow tracking of imaging methods and protocols over the lifetime of a project, and a mechanism for linking these to published results.

Training and consulting can be requested through a booking system. Subjects covered range from general programming to usage of specialized image analysis and processing software.

Assistance for projects requiring intensive image analysis is provided through collaborations.

Software supported:

  • Fiji (is just ImageJ - batteries included)
  • BioImageXD
  • Imaris
  • Velocity
  • Definiens Developer XD / Cellenger
  • Matlab
