News DetailsChanging your diet might helpScientists at the Dresden University Clinics in close collaboration with the MPI-CBG research group of Andrej Shevchenko had a closer look at the blood lipids of hypertension patients. Their survey showed: All patients share an insufficient ratio of a special kind of fats, so-called ether lipids. Changing your diet might help: "Food consisting mainly of soy beans, safflower, eggs, and roe could counteract the lacking ether lipids and maybe even stimulate their synthesis" says Jürgen Gräßler, head of the study. Such a diet could become an active remedy against high blood pressure or hypertension-related diseases. To read the German press release of the Dresden Medical Faculty, please click here.
