News DetailsLab Diary by Marcus AnhäuserIn order to initiate new or intensify existing good contacts with journalists, the MPI-CBG together with the other two Dresden Max Planck Institutes launched a Journalist in Residence Fellowship in 2008. This fellowship offers a journalist the opportunity to stay in the three Dresden MPI’s for three months, so that they would have time to get to know the topics we work on, get a feeling of the atmosphere in the institutes and be inspired to find good and interesting stories or people that will be the basis for interesting reports with fascinating protagonists in the future. In 2009, Marcus Anhäuser is the Dresden Journalist in Residence. At the MPI-CBG, he is hosted by the lab of Iva Tolic-Nørrelykke and writes a daily online science blog. Embedded journalism - Marcus observes the daily work of scientists, tries to understand what they do, how they destroy cells and why, or what tools they use to do what.
