News DetailsPR award of the MPI-CBG Information OfficeThe MPI-CBG Information Office, co-ordinating all PR activities, constantly experiences great support from scientists in the institute. To recognise outstanding contributions to the outreach programme of the MPI-CBG, the Information Office launched an internal PR award - the Golden Axolotl, which was presented at this year's Christmas Party for the first time. The nominees for 2009 were: The "Kids Programme" offered at Long Night of Science, organised by a huge team, the Knust Lab for their continuous participation in the Juniordoktor Programme or the Long Night of Science with a fantastic hands-on experiment that teaches you how to extract DNA from onions with your kitchenware, Stefan Diez for giving science talks at schools and launching the Dresden Science Calendar, Dunja Knapp for a seminar at the Seniorenakademie, and the Tolic Lab for hosting a journalist who published his observations in a daily science blog. A jury consisting of Stephan Schön, Science Editor of Sächsische Zeitung, Susann Pfeiffer, coordinator of the Juniordoktor Programme and the Long Night of Science, and Florian Frisch, Head of the MPI-CBG Information Office, chose the winner. The Golden Axolotl 2009 goes to: the Knust Lab. Congratulations!
