Otto Hahn Medal to Claudio Collinet and Jesse Lipp

Award recognizes outstanding scientific achievementsClaudio Collinet and Jesse Lipp of the MPI-CBG were awarded the Otto Hahn Medal for young researchers in the Max Planck Society. Claudio, who did his PhD in Marino Zerial's lab, received the award for his work on the systems analysis of endocytosis and Jesse (PhD in Wolfgang Zachariae's group) for his work on the mechanisms of chromosome segregation during meiosis. The award will be presented during the meeting of the Bio-Medical Section of the Max Planck Society in Berlin on 8 June 2011. Congratulations from all of us and all the best for Claudio's and Jesse's future! Since 1978, the Max Planck Society has honored up to 40 young scientists and researches each year with the Otto Hahn Medal for outstanding scientific achievements. The award comes with a monetary sum in recognition. The prize is intended to motivate especially gifted junior scientists and researchers to pursue a future university or research career. |
