Seeing and understanding science

Among the 3,000 visitors that come to see what we do at MPI-CBG, also many preschool kids explore the labs and facilities. They learn how scientists work and why we have showers in the lab. They can see the fish facility with zebrafish in 2,500 tanks and feel how cold a cold room is. The kids can also observe worms under the microscope and try to do some pipetting.

Usually these junior scientists are especially fascinated by the axolotl Carolyn. See some really cute drawings here by these kids.

The MPI-CBG offers guided tours for individual groups for free. A tour takes 90 minutes (60 minutes for preschool and elementary school kids). If you are interested in joining a guided tour through the MPI-CBG, please send an eMail to info@mpi-cbg.de
