News DetailsSupport for transition to independenceCaren Norden, MPI-CBG group leader, is one of eight awardees of the competitive Career Development Award granted by the Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) for her project “The retina: a model to extract kinetics, mechanics and cellular interactions in neuronal migration”. Congratulations! Norden joined the MPI-CBG in September 2010 after working as a postdoc in Cambridge, UK. The Career Development Award Program of the HFSP supports the transition to independence of young scientists deciding to return to their home countries after postdoctoral training abroad. This year awards have been made to 8 young scientists returning to 6 different countries. Each awardee will receive a total of $300,000 spread over three years. The Human Frontier Science Program is an international program of research support. Its aims are to promote intercontinental collaboration and training for people from postdoc to mature group leaders in cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research focused on the life sciences. HFSPO receives financial support from the governments or research councils of Australia, Canada, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland, UK, USA, as well as from the European Union. |
