Outstanding contribution by German-Israeli collaboration
Stephan Grill, research group leader at the MPI-CBG and the MPI-PKS, receives this year's ARCHES award together with Ohad Medalia (Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel) for their joint project "Insights into the dynamics and architecture of tension generating actomyosin networks".
The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research launched the German-Israeli young researcher award ARCHES (Award for Research Cooperation and High Excellence in Science) in 2008. The award is meant to recognise and reward outstanding contributions to research and was also designed to strengthen German-Israeli scientific collaboration. The award is presented annually to German-Israeli research teams headed by two highly-qualified and talented young scientists. ARCHES comes with 200,000 Euros prize money.
