Jan HuiskenJobsPhD studentsStudents interested in a PhD project in the lab are kindly requested to apply through the International Max Planck Research School for Molecular Cell Biology and Bioengineering (IMPRS-MCBB). However, please note that the Huisken Lab does not participate in every selection round. Postdoctoral PositionsWe are constantly seeking outstanding postdoctoral candidates from all fields of life sciences, physics and informatics. In particular we are looking for a Experimental physicist or optical engineer with experience in microscopy, biomedical imaging or optics in general. Potential projects include the development of novel cutting edge microscopy technology for applications in the life sciences, in particular for the projects in the lab and in the institute. The successful candidate for this position has a strong background in imaging technology such as high resolution microscopy (SPIM, PALM, STED, confocal, multi-photon, etc.). In our lab the candidate will develop and build microscopes in close collaboration with biologists in an interdisciplinary environment. Additional tasks may include software development for hardware control with, e.g. Labview and image processing with Matlab, ImageJ, Fiji, etc. Experience in sample preparation and biological model systems such as zebrafish will be considered positively but is not a requirement. This position is a very good opportunity for a motivated and creative individual to participate in a highly interdisciplinary and innovative line of research. In 2009 The Scientist voted the MPI-CBG number 1 place in the world in academia and number 1 in the world to do a postdoc. Applicants should email a CV and a description of research interests to Jan Huisken. |
