science & societyOur MissionThe Dresden Forum on Science and Society was established as an integral component of the activities of the Dresden life sciences community to foster an informed and multidisciplinary discussion of the social, economic and political impact of modern research in that field. Our main goals are to encourage dialogue between scientists and the lay public; to raise awareness among scientists of the impact of scientific research on our society; and to analyse and evaluate the many ways in which scientific discoveries and the social environment influence each other. Bioethics, scientific theory, the interface between economic and social studies and the life sciences as a whole are all relevant aspects of this ongoing effort. In this context, we offer a number of activities for the public like Science Cafés or distinguished lectures. Science and Society lectures are announced by the piece "DNA in concert" by Thilo Thomas Krigar (performed by the Ensemble Pythagoras Strings).
